The Human Rights Campaign opened the doors of its first permanent home in the heart of Washington, D.C., in 2003. This building is an important symbol for all who visit the nation's capital — a constant reminder to both fair-minded allies and anti-gay advocates that HRC will not stop until lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans are ensured equality. The building, located at 1640 Rhode Island Ave., N.W., provides an ample workspace for HRC's staff of more than 150. It also houses the stunning Equality Center, a meeting and event space available for rent, and the HRC Media Center, a state-of-the-art multimedia production facility.
