[Updated 11/29/2012] Richard Scully, a 49-year-old lawyer, is in trouble for allegedly beating up his 26-year-old ex-girlfriend in Glover Park last week, according to The Washingtonian. He is due in court on August 1 for the incident.
An editor's note on the Washingtonian article writes:
EDITOR'S UPDATE: The US Attorney's office dropped the charges against Scully on October 9. Mark Schamel, a partner at Womble Carlyle, Sandridge & Rice, who is now representing Scully, says the prosecutor’s investigation of the case found evidence that contradicted the alleged victim’s version of events. “The arrest was made based on a false allegation,” Schamel told The Washingtonian.
Yay, what good news for Richard!
The Washingtonian also reported that he used to be married to Washington Post publisher Katharine Weymouth. They wed in 1998 and divorced six years later.

The Washington Post makes no mention of the story. Cold!
The incident allegedy happened right by the Holy Rood Cemetery and Harvey Middle School, on Whitehaven Parkway NW.
