On Sunday, we hopped to Charming Charlie in National Harbor for a tea social put on by TheGirlfriendGroup, a global organization founded by Vanessa Maddox dedicated to aspiring women to network, share, and encourage. Ladies (dressed in girly summer frocks accessorized with flowers and hats) brought their favorite teacups and delighted in refreshments and exclusive TheGirlfriendGroup discounts on Charming Charlie items. Our favorite teacups at the event were the ones made by local artist Manouchka Massillon.
Two women were recognized for their outstanding efforts in female empowerment: Key Key Brothers was named 2011 Girlfriend of the Year, and Rheanna Derrick was named PowerhouseWoman of the year.
