Dad: "No but like what does the White House Correspondents' Dinner really entail? Like what does it actually mean?"

Me: "Well, it's like supposed to be a dinner that recognizes the outstanding works by journalists over the year in their coverage of all things White House related. But, it's pretty much just a chance for all of the nerds in DC to get their photos taken with celebrities in order to build their cred with their children/on Facebook."

More story and photos below...

Above, a reenactment of the phone conversation that took place a couple of hours ago with  my father (on his birthday!). This being the first dinner GofG has taken part of, I really didn't know what to expect. However, between all of the brunching, pre-parities and post-parties, I can honestly say that this weekend in Washington was "a big f*cking deal."

We will try to walk you through the weekend as best as we can over the next two days. But first, a second look at Mr. Barack Obama wooing over his audience at last night's dinner:

Make sure you come back today and all week long to catch up on every party that went on this weekend surrounding the WHCD dinner (aka "Nerd Prom").
