The book is filled with beautiful photos and maps. How did you know you wanted to include such snapshots from the era in the pages of your book?
A lot of years of research and editing! Narrowing down what made the most sense to fill in details in the story, and blur the lines between fact and fantasy. I love these in between moments where you can’t tell what is real and what is fictionalized. I also like for the reader to be able to make up their own story lines in their head (although I have specific places where each of my characters go next, power shifts, love affairs, etc.).[Mia Moretti, Kelly Framel, Margot]
