How did designing the line come about?
I went to a dressmaker to repair one of my favorite Laura Ashley dresses that I had worn to pieces. The fabric was so badly ripped that she said it could not be saved, so I decided to remake it. Once I had the freedom to redo that dress, I found myself making so many changes to it (bigger shoulders, ruffles, higher waist, contrasting fabric) that it was an entirely different dress. Then my daughter wanted a matching one. And then I just became addicted to the process, and started making more.
