Peek Inside The Nines, The Swanky New Supper Club & Piano Bar Above ACME

by Stephanie Maida · January 31, 2022

There's no question that nostalgia is taking over the nightlife scene, with the next generation of out-and-about New Yorkers flocking to old school favorites for martinis and fancy scenes that recall the forgotten glamour of the city.

But if the Upper East Side has the tried and true Bemelmans for drinks and jazzy live music, downtown Manhattan may have just gotten its own, newer version of a classic NYC haunt.

Despite the fact that it's only a few weeks old, The Nines, a new piano bar and supper club from Golden Age Hospitality's Jon Neidich, encapsulates everything we're seemingly searching for in an old school hot spot, from its moody, red-draped décor and gilded ambiance to the baby grand piano serving as its centerpiece.

The Nines is nestled above none other than ACME, the beloved Golden Age Hospitality mainstay in Noho, truly turning the Great Jones address into the ultimate night-out destination. If the buzzy disco-esque downstairs club isn't the vibe for your evening, head upstairs and slip into one of the red corduroy settees to sip elegant cocktails and feast on oysters, caviar, and shrimp cocktail à la a socialite from another era.

"Throughout this entire process, we focused on the guest’s sensorial experience," Neidich explained in a statement. "The soft lighting, the gold wallpapered ceiling, the feeling of a chilled martini in crystal glassware enjoyed with delicious food all while renditions of Chaka Khan, Irma Thomas and the Rolling Stones play on the baby grand piano - the guest is taken on a journey that culminates into a perfectly harmonious evening."

It sure sounds like the perfect night to us!
