Dinnertable

A surefire way to impress your date? Take them to Dinnertable. A hidden and intimate little spot behind certified cool kid haunt, The Garret East, this brand spankin' new East Village eatery is a "reverse speakeasy" of sorts. Go behind the curtain, press the doorbell-esque button, and be escorted into a dimly lit, 20-seat back room where the chefs are cooking up their impressive menu right in plain sight. The communal table and open kitchen make Dinnertable's atmosphere that of a secret club, where everyone knows everyone and the food is personal. Husband-and-wife team, Chefs Scott Tacinelli and Angie Rito, are at the helm of the stove, offering high-end but accessible eats such as Smoked Short Rib Tartare and a Lasagna Bolognese for two. Our pick? Get the dumplings - filled with potato and pecorino cheese.
