Viola Drath murder
Who would ever murder a 91-year old woman? Albrecht Muth did when he allegedly killed his wife, Georgetown socialite Viola Drath, this fall.
Drath’s body was
found in a bathroom of the home they shared in the 3200 block of Q Street NW. Muth, 47, called police and said his wife died from a fall. A medical examiner ruled that she had actually been strangled and beaten.
He wants to represent himself at the trials, which will happen in 2012. Right now he is telling people it was a part of a
plot with the Iraqi military, of which he has "independent ties." Pretty much everyone is saying he made that up.
Viola was the grandmother of Ethan Drath, owner of Georgetown's quaint Sherman Pickey boutique.
