Thomas Ovlisen, “Tomato”

Thomas Ovlisen, “Tomato”
Looking for “touching” art? This Friday, Klaus von Nichtssagend Gallery is celebrating the opening of “Tomato,” a new exhibition by Danish artist, Thomas Ovlison, that encourages guests to pick up selected works and flip them in different angles. The title “Tomato” is inspired by the artist’s mother, who held a longtime aversion to the taste of the fruit, but was fascinated by its color. Ovlison’s works continue this fascination with color and form, with many of his paintings achieving a shiny, tomato-like gloss. Other highlights include two large sculptures that further challenge the viewer’s notions of perspective and size. Through March 4, Klaus von Nichtssagend Gallery, 54 Ludlow Street. Opening Reception Friday, January 27, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. For more information, go HERE. [Photo via]
