18. Ginger Island Project Party & DJ Sets by Marina Rosenfeld The Ginger Island Project is presented by independent curator Liutauras Psibilskis and Performa 11. The Ginger Island Project reflects on the idea of the Fluxus artist community that George Maciunas initiated in the late 1960s. The Ginger Island Project include an exhibition at the Emily Harvey Foundation of work by a group of artists directly or indirectly relating to the Ginger Island trip, a film installation at the Storefront for Art and Architecture, and a sound project by Marina Rosenfeld at a pop-up venue in SoHo/Chinatown (Red Egg). In the project Ginger Island becomes a metaphor for utopias, dreams, aspirations and creativity.
