When selecting your yacht, its important to find a yacht that will allow parties as many will not allow it. Because let’s face it, if you’re going to book a yacht for Cannes there is a really good chance you will want to have a party or two.
Yachts will line the Old Port each with their own red carpet entries. Though I’m sure you’ve packed your hottest dancing shoes, sadly you will have to remove them and leave them at the passerelle. Entering a yacht is like walking into someone’s home that takes much pride and care towards their heavy investment. The bottom of your shoes can easily damage the deck, but don’t fret. A gracious yacht charterer will have plush slippers for their party guests. Aside from the shoes, you can expect that there will be carpeting brought in to protect the decks. I cannot tell you how serious protecting the floors of a yacht is and expensive if they are damaged by spilled Opus One! And just like star-studded event at a venue, extra staff, floral arrangements, additional lighting, sound system, glassware/dinnerware, dinnerware all have to be brought in and rented. Some yachts that are hosting the Hollywood bigwigs even opt to bring in a theater- worthy large screen to preview their new films in the comfort and privacy of their own Mediterranean.
