Diversity was celebrated in the Best Actor and Best Actress categories. Iranian actor, Shahab Hosseini, won his first Palme d'Or for an incredible performance in The Salesman, while Jaclyn Jose took home her own statue for her portrayal of mother forced into selling drugs in her convenience store to keep her family financially afloat in Ma Rosa.
