There are probably some of you out there who feel like it's important to spend Memorial Day weekend in silent reflection over the sacrifices made in the name of American freedom. And we very much respect that, and send our profound thanks to those who serve our country. We also think that the best way to celebrate freedom, once you've given your thanks, is to go out and have a completely awesome time. Luckily for you, there's a bounty of pool parties, music festivals, BBQ's, yacht parties, rooftop soirees, and more this long weekend, right here in L.A., plus some ragers in Vegas if you're looking to get out of town, so check it all out in our 2013 Memorial Day Weekend Party Guide. Nobody, anywhere, does Cinco de Mayo like L.A. does. Cinco de Mayo belongs to us, and while that may seem like something to brag about, it's also a big responsibility. See, we don't automatically get to keep the title of Best Cinco City, and that means we all have to do our part by getting extra crazy this weekend. Luckily, there are loads of parties, so whether you're motivated by good food, strong drinks, loud music, or some crazy combination therein, we've got just the fiesta for you in this Cinco de Mayo Party Guide. As mentioned yesterday, Mother Nature has brought Los Angeles some nice "summerlike" weather in which to bask this week and through the weekend. With the sun out and the temperatures in the 90s (!), it will make for some ideal beach day conditions and we hope you take advantage. While you're out there, you're probably going to want to grab some drinks and food to round out the day and we're here to help with those plans. So whether you're already scouting out a spot on SoCal's famous coastline near the shore or just want to admire it from afar but don't actually want to make contact with sand, here's a guide to eight of L.A.'s best beachside restaurants and bars from Marina Del Rey to Malibu that are GofG L.A.-approved. If you've followed our extensive Coachella 2013 coverage largely focused on the party scene and celebrity sightings, you may think we forgot all about the whole reason hundreds of thousands of people journey to the desert for two weekends. Rest assured team GofG L.A. has not. In fact, because our stage-hopping time at Weekend 1 was quite compromised by the party agenda, we returned for Weekend 2 just to get more festival music action. And even though we've been doing Coachella for years, the scene on the polo field is always an awesome spectacle that takes our breath away. Over and over again, countless times in a single day. Between the stunning desert backdrop, spectacular shows, bros bro-ing out, art installations, fashion, staggering crowds, mind-blowing heat and run-of-the-mill WTF moments, here's a look at the scenes from the festival grounds of Coachella 2013. After four years as an official sponsor of the festival, H&M at long last threw its first Coachella weekend party at the famous Merv Griffin Estate on Saturday. The H&M Loves Music event featured live performances by Santigold, The Dough Rollers and party tunes provided by DJ Michelle Pesce and DJ Shorty Stump for over 500 guests to enjoy while lounging in the shade with cold drinks and bites. Among the notables who stepped out for the event were Diane Kruger, Jason Wu, Sophia Bush, Joshua Jackson, Julianne Hough, Justin Chatwin and Darren Criss. Check out the slideshow to see photos from H&M Loves Music and see why we're hoping it was just the first of many H&M Coachella parties to come. More>>
