Bottle Service got its start in NYC in ‘93 (the VIP room in Tunnel Nightclub to be exact). Since then, clubs and lounges across the world have copied this model, one that allows for promoters and club owners to cater to that high spender. Want a table in this town? It’s going to cost you. And when currency is exchanged for Belvedere, there are bound to be some “don’t-show-mom” photos that emerge the next morning.  And this is the common ground that any club, no matter where the location, shares. Case in point, these clubgoers at left in Washington, D.C. showing us how they do bottle service in the nightclubs of our nation’s capital. More photos below… More»

[Photos via Getty]. This week, our nation’s capital has been playing host to the Legg Mason Tennis Classic, one of the world’s top men’s tournaments. Part of the Olympus US Open series linking nine summer competitions to the US Open for a complete tennis season, the week included player favorites Andy Roddick and Robby Ginepri. Today begins day seven of matches that comprise a portion of the ATP World Tour 500 which will conclude with the finals this Sunday, August 9th. More»

Basically, if you’ve ever been on a tv show or in a movie, there’s a good chance you were at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Chace Crawford, Matthew Settle, Glenn Close, Eva Longoria, Natalie Portman, Rashida Jones, Amber Tamblyn, Glenn Close, BJ Novak, Kerry Washington, Tyra Banks, Will Arnett, Amy Poehler, Taye Diggs, Idina Menzel, Colin Firth, Claire Danes, Kyra Sedgwick, James Franco…that’s just to name a FEW. Was anyone left in LA this weekend?

Saturday night, our nation’s capital became a mini version of L.A. with a sprinkle of NYC, and all of the popular people showed.  The White House Correspondents Dinner brought together some of the most important public figures in our country (including the Obamas), and the people that cover them.  Many are dubbing this meet-up as “Nerd Prom 2009″ (see THIS, THIS and THIS).  Well, I hate to be the one to break it to you guys, but this is hardly a meet-up of nerds.  More story and photos below… More»

[Photos via Getty] No, this isn’t taken from a sold out Coachella concert from over the weekend, it’s the Earth Day celebration in Washington D.C. yesterday. Though the official Earth Day is usually celebrated on the 22nd, some Flaming Lips fans headed to the Mall to get an early start.  Our favorite NYC cyclist, Matthew Modine was on hand to speak (with his bike in tow of course), as well as actors like Chevy Chase and Joy Bryant. Miss Earth USA, Jana Murrell even showed!  Click below for more photos… More»

In the past few days, it has come to the nation’s attention that the Obama family’s former personal chef, Sam Kass, will be leaving the Midwest to join them in the White House. The NYTimes gave a rundown of Kass’ credentials, such as his work at the Chicago restaurant Avec, though what has been sorely neglected in all of this coverage, is a HELL YEA to the fact that Sam Kass is a TOTAL BABE.

Everyone that’s anyone not only watched our 44th president being sworn into office, but attended one of the hundreds of inaugural balls around the country. Perhaps the one of the more star-powered was that of the sold-out ball by The Creative Coalition (in joint effort with Pepsi) held at the Harman Center for the Arts in DC. The CC was founded in 1989 by people like Alec Baldwin, (the late) Christopher Reeve, and Susan Sarandon among others.

Actress Rosario Dawson, Artist Shepard Fairey, Moby, MoveOn.org, SEIU, OBEY Giant, Michael Stpie, and Heather Graham hosted the “Manifest Hope” Inauguration party last night in D.C.  De La Soul and Santogold performed live while Moby played D.J.  In addition, Manifest Hope DC hosted an art gallery featuring an array of viusal artists to mark the inauguration.

Famed funk men George Clinton and Sly Stone ripped it up at the Hero Ball last night at the Time Warner Theater to honor our military and wounded soldiers.  True to form, there were more people and entourage on stage than most people knew what to make of (not to mention 4 guitarists).  At one point one of them hung a “Fuck George” banner, perhaps thinking a double entendre would be funny, but it was nothing short of poor taste given the audience.  It was quickly taken down… More»

The DC mass transit system was a nightmare yesterday!  Over 850,000 people used the metro, and hundreds of thousands were packing into Union Station like sardines as they tried to grab a train out of our beloved capital.  Even for a low-profile dog like me, it was very difficult to navigate, and took over an hour to get through the sea of people.  The worst part of course was that it was near impossible for me to grab food at the Sbarro.  I was craving a stromboli to fill my barrel-chested stout body, and after waiting for 30 minutes managed to grab one.

What’s going on in NYC? Send me the scoop!
