-Citing influences who range from Fleetwood Mac to Kanye West, Lorde definitely respects and looks to her fellow musicians for inspiration, but that doesn't mean she applauds
everyone on the pop scene.
-Recently, the sharp 17-year-old stirred up some controversy by publicly taking issue with the likes of
Justin Bieber,
Taylor Swift, and
Selena Gomez. The self-proclaimed feminist has no problem speaking her mind,
saying of Tay,
“Taylor Swift is so flawless, and so unattainable, and I don’t think it’s breeding anything good in young girls."
-Nevertheless, it seems the newcomer has already made plenty of friends in the biz, including Abel Tesfaye, the soulful hip hop artist who goes by "The Weeknd," sister rock trio HAIM, and just
David Bowie and Tilda Swinton! (No big deal.)
-However, there may not even be any bad blood with the blonde country singer, who was just spotted out in NYC with her outspoken kiwi critic,
having a lunch date at Shake Shack.
