2. Oscar de la Renta's new plans for expansion, including beehives and tomato plans. Despite his battle with cancer last year, Oscar de la Renta has no plans to retire. His plans for expansion include revamping his fragrance line, a children's wear line set to launch in March, a home accessories line, and a color cosmetics line in the fall. He also plans on opening a store on 5th Avenue for only bridalwear. He is also moving from the office he has spent his entire career to one near Bryant Park. His new office including terraces, where he plans to keep beehives and tomato plans. Luxury agriculture? On his expansion he says,
"The most abused word in the world is 'retirement.' Why should I stop doing something that brings me so much pleasure?"
