3. There might be a new Nordstrom rack opening on 42nd Street soon-ish. The fast growing off-price division of the retailer would find a perfect new home in the 32,000 square feet property with an uninterrupted sidewalk front on 6th Avenue and 42nd Street. Even though Nordstrom and the owner of the property have been in negotiations for months, it remains unclear how far the contract is along, or if there are still competitors vying for the space. Needless to say, at this stage no date is out for an opening of the store. [
