Throwing Shoes
Allegedly, 40% of women have hurdled footwear at men at some point in their lives. Even though we haven't been able to find a trustworthy source for this number, other than various internet sites copying and pasting the "funny fact," we like the idea of this love/hate-triangle-scenario in which we throw our second most beloved item at our most beloved accessory.
Throwing shoes, of course, is a long standing tradition and holds a significant amount of cultural meaning. Enough for Wikipedia to even have a "
List of Shoe Throwing Incidents." Is it possible that our obsession with shoes has a deeper subconscious meaning than we know?
