2. CFDA Leaving Garment District. After having tried for some years to revive the garment district by supporting young designers to open up shops there, the CFDA is now moving its headquarters from 39th Street to NoHo. It seems a bit hypocritical to first encourage other people - the Fashion Incubator and "Made in Midtown" were meant to draw fashion businesses back to the district - and then to leave the sinking ship themselves.
However, having outgrown the current office space, the CFDA had been looking in different neighborhoods, especially the garment district, but eventually decided for the "best space for a functioning office". [
