American Cancer Society Festive In Flip Flops

Festive in Flip Flops is a way to recognize the American Cancer Society and support its critical programs and services on Long Island. For more than 50 years, the Society has been providing wonderful patient services to individuals. During the past year, the Society has directly helped 1,199 breast cancer patients with services, information, and guidance, including one-on-one support provided by breast cancer survivors through our Reach to Recovery program. Camp Adventure on Shelter Island hosts 150 children in August each year. This fun-filled, sleep-away camp is for children with cancer and their siblings, ages 6-18. Through its research program, the Society has six active grants at two Long Island research facilities - Stony Brook University and Cold Spring Harbor Laboratories. This represents a current, local investment of more than $3 million. Proceeds from the event will help the American Cancer Society initiatives and services for Long Island including the North and South Fork.
