Right now, 3 million New Yorkers have difficulty affording food while 1 in 6 children relies on soup kitchens and food pantries. This year Food Bank For New York City is facing detrimental funding cuts. In July, the Food Bank lost nearly 50 percent of its funding for its Community Kitchen & Food Pantry in Harlem and proposed federal budget cuts would leave them serving 10 million fewer meals throughout New York City each year ... With this fundraising dinner we hope to help raise enough money so that it will lessen the potentially devastating impact for the 1 in 5 New Yorkers that relies on the Food Bank.
