A few good suggestions. A few shills. Bostwicks: definitely one of the best spots for fresh simple seafood, lively atmosphere and very fair prices. Dock House Sag Harbor: not much seating but the seafood is decent and generally fresh. Def keep it simple here. Gosmans: sadly an awful tourist trap with food equivalent to what you'd find at a Greek Diner. IF you want fresh seafood anywhere near GOsmans, get it from Bob Gosmans market (which is great) and go home and cook it yourself. The Palm: best to take advantage of their summer lobster special Great steaks and lobster, potatoes and all the trimmings but the place is deafeningly loud and has been taken over by drunk, sharehouse lowlives. Duryea's: another awful tourist trap serving microportions of poorly executed seafood. GO to the Montauket for the sunsets but avoid this dump which serves Red Lobster quality food. Notably Absent: the Clam Bar at Napeague: on a nice afternoon when not too crowded can be very enjoyable although lately the quality of the lobster and steamers has slipped a bit. NOTE: none of these places compare even remotely to the Lobster Pounds or Clam Bars of Maine and Rhode Island. A shame, considering all the cash on hand and foodies out east.
