Getting Out There Is A Nightmare
No matter which way you cut it - LIRR, cannonball, Jitney, car, Blade - you are not the only one who's heard about this whole Hamptons thing. And you will most definitely lose an annoying period of your life to reliably horrible traffic, standing on a packed train (assuming you survived the transfer at Jamaica - like, seriously, don't you know to get on at Hunter's Point?), or that uneasy moment when you realize the helicopter waiting room is basically some little kids PanAm meets '70s Playboy Club dreams, with vintage nude magazines and uncomfortably made up stewardesses.
