Stupidity is not extinct. No matter where you go, or what you do, you will inevitably encounter people, places and things that will make you squint your eyes, tilt your head and whisper to yourself 'what the actual f*#k?'; summertime in the Hamptons is no exception. In the land of success, wealth and extravagance, you can always find a fab party with chic people, dope music and bubbly booze. We love that part. Seriously. What we don't like, is that there are too many people choosing to get behind the wheel after having one too many vodka-spritzers. That's a big no no.
Start your journey to the Hamptons R&R you've been needing with a good book - so much chicer than playing Candy Crush on your phone. These are our top picks for your summer '16 needs, from the Jitney to the beach and then back again.
Uptown Girl? More like East End Girl. Supermodel and super-mom Christie Brinkley has been a familiar face on the Hamptons circuit for decades, but it looks like even a class act like her can grow weary of a 20-acre compound in Bridgehampton. After 18 years of calling the Tower Hill Estate home, Brinkley has put it on the market for almost $30 million. According to the New York Post, the famous blonde just doesn't need all that space (which includes four bedrooms, a greenhouse, and a tennis court), with her younger children, Jack and Sailor Brinkley-Cook, spending more time in the city these days. Not to worry though, Brinkley apparently plans to settle at one of her other Hamptons homes in Sag Harbor. Ah, the struggle.
The ultimate in online foodie destinations, Tasting Table has become the go-to source for recipes, trends, and all-you-can-eat visual feasting. Former banker turned culinary CEO, Geoff Bartakovics, is a certified NYC cool guy - if anyone knows where to eat out, it's Geoff. Now that most New Yorkers (including us!) are heading out East every weekend, Tasting Table is taking over the Hamptons, with delicious pop-up events through August. Who better, then, to ask about hot spots and hangouts?
For most, summertime means getting shoved onto a supposedly air-conditioned subway car, packed in like a sardine, probably next to a sweating stranger with BO, all the while foundation is melting off your face. Glamorous right? Meanwhile, summer for the remaining 1% looks something like this: hopping on a helicopter out to the Hamptons, drinking rosé, spending days poolside, drinking more rosé, shopping in town, more rosé, dining in one of the many 5 star restaurants, even more rosé, and then eventually heading out to one of the hot nightclubs with 25 of your closest friends... every weekend.
Champagne poppin', Surf Lodgin', and style spottin' - sounds like another weekend out East to us. From Revolve's summer splash with the likes of Hailey Baldwin, to a Nicole Miller pop-up and dinner with Lucien Smith, click through for everything you missed last weekend in the Hamptons.
The Hamptons heated up once again this weekend thanks to a wild bash hosted by Revolve Clothing. The cool-girl favorite garnered itself quite an A-list guest list, featuring the likes of Hailey Baldwin, Jamie Chung, and Chanel Iman, all to celebrate the launch of Moët & Chandon’s Rosé Impérial “Pink Flamingo” Bottle. The garden party was worthy of the chic bottle, complete with picnic games, playful flute-toppers, and epic performances by Coco & Breezy, Desiigner, and D.R.A.M.
