Next time someone wants to chastise you for having one too many mimosas at Sunday brunch, let them know that it might be in their best interest to join you in getting champagne drunk more than once a week.
According to recent findings, as well as the resurfacing of past studies from the University of Reading, drinking one to three glasses of champagne every day can help prevent early onset Alzheimers and dementia. The research shows that the "phenolic compounds" - found in the red/black grapes used to make the bubbly - improves your spatial memory. While this isn't exactly the excuse we need to start, or continue, our committed drinking patterns, the scientific encouragement is nice. Now pass the Dom.
