The Higher The Proof, The Higher The Calories

There are some basic rules to follow whenever drinking hard liquor. White liquor (vodka) is generally less caloric than dark liquors like whiskey and rum.  And while finer labels (i.e. more expensive) tend to have less calories, the golden rule you should remember is: the higher the proof, the higher the calories.

So just because your wallet is lighter from that 100-proof Belvedere, does not mean your body will be if you drink too much of it, too quickly.
