Drink: Iron Fairies
A hole-in-the-wall bar inspired by the underground world of iron ore mining, Iron Fairies is a dark, sexy "factory" given the Baz Luhrmann treatment by Australian designer, Ashley Sutton, known for his creative designs. Thousands of preserved butterflies hang from the ceiling - which should be creepy - but hear me out - it gives a mystical feeling to the place - especially when paired with all the tiny iron fairy figurines found scattered all over the venue. Their cocktails or "elixirs" are exceptionally creative and strong. Coupled with the live jazz and blues band that serenades the crowd on a little stage, a night at Iron Fairies is a great escape into a different, slower paced world.
