Interview with Markus Schulz

The past few years have brought many sub-genres like dubstep, trap, and moombahton to the mainstream. Do you have any predictions for what might gain traction in 2013? Most new sub-genres are reactions and/or interpretations of other, slightly older sub-genres. Trap and moombahton are mutations of dubstep and are responses by hip-hop and reggae-ton artists, I guess, to EDM’s emergence into the mainstream. It could well be that the next steps taken will be new EDM artists reacting to those new modifications with something reactive of their own. [Photo via]
