2. Sorry Wrong Number, Who This?
Does this feel abrupt? The EU was just getting back into the hang of things, ready to embark on a new chapter of the relationship and the UK goes and throws ultimatums. That's not totally true, the UK has been threatening to leave the EU for quite some time and this is apparently the only way the EU will get the memo. Drastic measures need to be taken sometimes. It is the moment to start something new. Europe isn't what it used to be when the UK embarked on this relationship. It most definitely did not sign up for being the crutch in this union. It's time to call it quits before things get ugly and the UK starts cheating on the EU with someone else (although we don't know if they would find better)!
