Bromance: Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte

Sport: Swimming
Rivals in the pool, and close friends out of it, Ryan Lochte and Michael Phelp's relationship makes for an interesting "bromance." The two met at the 2004 Olympic trials where they bonded over hip-hop, video games, and expensive cars. They even vacationed for a week together in Beijing after the 2008 games.
Despite their intense rivalry in the upcoming Olympic games, Peter Carlisle, an agent who represents both swimmers, says to Men's Journal:
"They're always texting. They're always joking. They're totally comfortable around one another. For a couple of guys who have a lot of serious stuff to think about, you wouldn't know it when they're together."
Regardless, once the two jump into the London pool their friendship will have to take a backseat as the two battle for the gold.
