Sketch, London's Iconic Instagram Hot Spot, Is No Longer Millennial Pink!

by Stephanie Maida · March 24, 2022

Since 2014, the Gallery at Sketch has been the star of countless Pinterest boards, Tumblr posts, and influencer Instagrams thanks to its all-pink aesthetic and eclectic display of pop-art-ish paintings by David Shrigley covering its walls. The swanky hot spot, located in a townhouse in London's posh Mayfair neighborhood, has always been the aspirational destination for would-be jet-setters and fashionistas dreaming of all the potential dinner #OOTDs should they ever make it to a table. Not to mention, of course, a buzzy favorite of the stylish locals.

But alas, even icons need a facelift every few years.

As of this March, Sketch unveiled the dining room's new redesign, and while it may no longer be the "Millennial Pink" restaurant of the Instagrams of yore, the space is certainly as chic as ever.

Now bathed in warm gold and copper tones courtesy of designer India Mahdavi (the same mind behind the previous pastel pink interiors), the beloved Gallery feels more mature and sophisticated, setting the scene specifically for the new batch of artwork by British-Nigerian artist Yinka Shonibare. The collection is titled Modern Magic, a fitting name indeed to usher in the spot's glamorous new era.

And come on, you know the Instagrams are going to be just as good.
