Is There Anything Scarier Than The Chicken Lobster Hybrid At Maison Barnes?

    Horrified much?

    A deranged Mr. Potato Head of a dish - an experiment in fanciness gone wrong.

    The surreal surf and turf situation on order at new haute cuisine spot Maison Barnes by Daniel Boulud is too much to handle. A whole roast chicken with the long antennaed head of a lobster, two big claws stuck just behind its wings, and then a curled red tail tucked behind its legs. 

    Fun with fine dining? Unsurprisingly, recent diner and decadence devotee Martha Stewart was all here for the dish. 

    Thankfully, we suppose, the menu item is only presented this way, consumed far more elegantly in a swatch of alternating meat slices served with a table-side poured sauce. 

    But still, who the hell would have an appetite after looking the devil in the face?
