2. The Getty has acquired quite the trove of Ed Ruscha photographs. It's an appropriate time to do so,
Pacific Standard Time and all, but to play the devil's advocate: I know he's an important contemporary artist, one that I love, but does anyone else feel like maybe the Getty is acquiring quite a bit of contemporary art these days? Is it because it's the new fad? Is it because it isn't as exciting to read about an acquisition of Victorian Age manuscripts or Tibetan tools? Just something to think about. [
