Slide #11

There's still time to catch these ongoing exhibits!
Hammer Projects: Maya Hayuk I'm drawn towards colorful and symmetrical scenes and images, which is why Maya Hayuk's exhibit at the Hammer Museum is perfect for me to visit. Kaleidoscopic colors weave through massive wall murals that look gorgeous in their entirety, but take a closer look at the interaction between the straight and curved lines and notice the dripping paint details. There's still time to catch her work on display, so be the one to spread the news to your friends! The artist's use of intense light and space creates a mis-perception of distance and space. Arrive in a white room with changing colors, and have an illusion of walking in a mist, and see how far you can walk before reaching the edge. A true definition of experiential art, don't be the last to see James Turrell's sensational retrospective at LACMA.
