Michael Kenna & Pentti Sammallahti
Photographers Michael Kenna and Pentti Sammallahti show their black and white works in a joint show opening this Saturday at Peter Fetterman Gallery. Kenna travels for half a year to photograph night and foggy scenes in remote locations. The results? Stark contrasts and beautiful photos of pieces of the world captured through his camera, which you can see in the photo on the left. Sammallahti first picked up a camera when he was 11 years old, and has never stopped since. Mainly focusing focusing on cold weathers, he believes "the worse the weather, the better the photograph." But he is still able to capture sweet moments, like "Embrace" in the photo above. You can find Michael Kenna at the opening reception and book signing this Saturday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Peter Fetterman.
