Calder and Abstraction: From Avant Garde to Iconic
Alexander Calder's iconic work is most recognized by his massive, elaborate mobiles that move by either motors or by natural air. He continued to construct larger steel structures that were ground-based, rather than hanging from the ceiling. With his first museum exhibit at LACMA designed by architect Frank O.
