Mira Schor: Chthonic Garden
Need an existential jolt? Mira Schor's Chthonic Garden wraps philosophical, existential, and political ideas all her mixed media on linen works. Schor also incorporates a blur between the earth and sky, which is seen through her work Reversible Painting: Map (2013) in which the image of a man either in the ground or on the ground can be seen if viewers tilt their heads upside down, depending on their perception. "Chthonic" also means inhabiting the underworld, if that helps form your understanding. View the different perspectives Schor infuses in her pieces and get a chance to hear her speak about her work this Saturday at CB1 Gallery. Artist Talk: Saturday, October 19, 2013 (4 p.m.) Artist Reception: Saturday, October 19, 2013 (5 p.m. - 7 p.m. October 19, 2013 - December 8, 2013 CB1 Gallery 207 W. 5th Street Los Angeles, CA 90013 [Photo via]
