The world-famous Abbey Food and Bar will serve as the launch location for STAR RIDE 2010,
the first multi-city motorcycle ride to celebrate international LIVESTRONG Day, October
2. Riders will gather at The Abbey between 8-9am and depart around 9am.
In association with the Lance Armstrong Foundation, the International Union Against Cancer (UICC) and other organizations, Los Angeles-based Metropolitan Community Charities is producing the inaugural STAR RIDE as one of over 1,000 anticipated events to be held in more than 50 countries on seven continents around the world. A focus on the increased risk of cancer in the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community is intended to elevate awareness of this group as being one of the six most at-risk populations. www.StarRide.net.
