What hasn't changed since 2004 is the mission of the FYF Fest, to celebrate new, creative music and bands that defy easy categorization. Though there's a focus on local groups, there's also plenty of room for interesting tune-makers like the Brooklyn-by-way-of-Boulder synth-rockers Chairlift.
