Slide #1

New York-based SOFTlab collaborated with Sonos in creating Light House, and exhibition housed inside Sonos Studio on La Brea composed of 600 fluorescent lights artfully suspended from the ceiling that pulsate in response to sound using various Sonos Wireless HiFi systems. The result is a dazzling demonstration of how music affects space showcased through a three-part concert series inside Light House that kicked off last week with The Crystal Method. The second installment of the Light House music events took place on Monday with Ernest Greene, the man behind the music of chillwave pioneer, Washed Out. In anticipation of the artist's upcoming Paracosm, slated to drop later this month, guests were invited to Sonos Studio for an exclusive live performance of five songs off the album. Set within Light House, the installation illuminated to the beat and sounds of the members of Washed Out performing beneath the beams for a spectacular, intimate show of music and light. Guests were also treated to an exclusive Q&A with Greene who opened up about the success of Washed Out (his song "Feel It All Around" is featured in the opening credits of "Portlandia"), and the sound and making of the upcoming album. The final event in the three-part music-installation series at Sonos will feature indie punk-pop girl band Bleached on August 22nd, so mark your calendars for a last chance to experience the radness of Light House. In the meantime, keep clicking through the slideshow for a look inside the Washed Out listening party and visit our photo gallery for complete coverage.
