Now in its 23rd year, Simply Shakespeare once again took over the Broad Stage in Santa Monica for a superstar-studded reading of
Two Gentlemen Of Verona. The event is held every year to raise funds for The Shakespeare Center Los Angeles programs that make Shakespeare theater productions accessible to L.A.'s under-served, inner-city communities.
Last night's impromptu read gave attendees a once-in-a-lifetime night of entertainment, boasting an all-star cast of American comedy legends, a knighted Beatle, Hollywood royalty, and a former Batman. Specifically, Paul McCartney, Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, Jason Alexander, Martin Short, Val Kilmer, Christina Applegate, Eric McCormack, Lily Rabe, Thomas Sadoski and William Shatner.
