The Set Times: Night One
As with any festival with this much good music spread across multiple stages, you're going to have some tough decisions to make. Most of the major headliners appear on the HARD stage, while the heaviest and most cutting edge electronica is at the neighboring HARDer Stage. The Red Bull Music Academy Discotheque seems to be the epicenter of the dance party, and the Fool's Gold Clubhouse focuses on Fool's Gold Records artists and others straddling the line between electronic and hip hop.
Personally, we're going to have trouble right off the bat deciding between the uniquely inspired Angolan Kuduro electro of Buraka Som Sistema and the outright lunacy of Mr. Muthafuckin Exquire and we have no intention of missing Little Dragon, Action Bronson, Danny Brown, Bloc Party or Bootsy Collins. The almost painfully severe beats of Gesaffelstein merit attention as well, if only to experience what it must be like inside the mind of a German serial killer.
