Old Town Haunt
Here's a little history lesson for you before you venture down Pasadena's Union Savings Bank Building built in the 1880s: In 1901, three bank robbers were able to enter the bank and blow open two safes, but never got away. Their bodies were discovered in the catacombs underneath the bank in 1949, with their limbs torn from their bodies and strewn across the ground. Maybe they blew themselves up. But what about the 12 Pasadena citizens who were also found in the catacombs in 1929, with their bodies also grotesquely ripped apart? The basement was sealed shut for several years, but legend has it that you could still hear screams and a sense a strong odor emanating from an open grate that leads to the catacombs. Reopened to the public in 2009, you now have a chance to creep underneath the old building and find out what's hiding in the dark at Old Town Haunt. When: October 12 - November 2 On select days only Where: 20 N Raymond Ave. Pasadena, CA 91103-3912 Purchase Tickets Here [Photo via]
