Was there a murder in the arts and crafts room? This is a mess, with the lace, velvet, sequin applique "accents" and what looks like an entire bolt of black organza threw up on her. There's nothing subtle or sophisticated about it, it's just screaming for attention in the worst way. The more I look at it the more I dislike it.
You know that scene in Clueless after Cher fails her driving test and Tai's ego is way above where it should be and she comes over with that decorated box of Elton mementos to burn? And then she tells Cher she's a virgin who can't drive? This dress looks just like that box. Seriously! Also, could she not find a pair of black pumps in her size...?
