Your characters' vernacular is so spot-on, how'd you get into that mindset when writing?
Thank you! It was especially fun to come up with variations on slang terms for sex and genitalia. I actually got into each character's mindset and would speak/walk/dream like each of them when I was writing their sections; embodying them like an actor would. For Jack in particular, I listened to a lot of the hop hop (which I do normally) and walked around my neighborhood with a swagger, taking notes in his voice on my iPhone and then transcribing them. I wanted him to have the inflection of a present day rapper/street hustler mixed with a 19th Century dandy.[Liz Goldwyn, John Demsey, Linda Rodin]
