The chilly weather also makes a trip to the museum an ideal activity, and what better way to round out such a sophisticated pastime with an after-browse cocktail? The Stark Bar has you covered with a delightfully heated patio and a series of hot cocktails to wax art criticism over, like the Oaxacan Holiday which takes cocoa infused dark rum, creme de cacao, chocolate chili bitters, freshly whipped cream, all topped off with grated nutmeg.
A personal favorite is the G-Funk Era, and not just for the name; they fuse their housemaid gin with freshly grown garden botanicals (The Stark bar maintains an herb garden behind the scenes), fever tree tonic, bitters, and grapefruit peel. Not served hot, but I like to think this one involves a reasonable dose of immune system boosters, which rounds out my rationalization for afternoon drinking at the museum.
