Other Details: The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences celebrated the 100th anniversary of famous musical film star and director Gene Kelly with a two-day tribute that ended last night featuring discussions, remembrances and screenings. Hosted by Kelly's widow Patricia Ward Kelly, who is herself a film archivist and historian, the program, entitled "Gene Kelly: Choreography and the Camera," took a look at the many ways in which Kelly's innovative choreography, dancing and staging has affected the way dance has been presented on film ever since, making use of research work from the Academy's Science and Technology Council.
