Other Details: Celebrities, cancer survivors and the friends and family of both came together last night at Avalon for the U.S. debut of Fuck Cancer from inwykiwyk ("it's not what you know, it's who you know"), an irreverent (this probably goes without saying) anti-cancer initiative that originated in the clearly-less-uptight frozen tundra of Canada. The purchase of one of these brightly colored "FUCK CANCER" t-shirts served as guests' entry ticket into the event, which included tunes from DJ Jilly Hendrix and Mark Foster from Foster The People, a silent auction including items like original art from Mr. Brainwash, and plenty of drinks and dancing. All proceeds went directly to benefit 8 different types of cancer research, primarily conducted right here at UCLA's Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center.
