Other details: Last night, the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center hosted the 2014 “An Evening with Women” event, its annual fundraising gala taking place at the Beverly Hilton. Guests couldn’t hold back their laughter when emcee Margaret Cho took the stage singing an original song, “Fat Pussy” and encouraging attendees to bid on special auction items including a trip to Bora Bora, won by Sia for $14,500, and Linda Perry’s personal piano signed by celebrities such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Courtney Love, and other LGBT celebrity supporters. Rumer Willis joined in on the action as she spontaneously offered herself up for a date to the highest bidder, selling for $12,000! Later, she ironically covered the song, “You Don’t Own Me.” by Lesley Gore. The night was a huge success, raising more than $600,000! All proceeds from the event, produced by Linda Perry, benefit the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center’s services for women and girls.
